Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL) was incorporated in 2011 and licensed as a power generating Company. Through concession agreement in November 2013 MESL took over Kainji & Jebba hydro power plants (constructed in 1968 & 1983 with installed capacities of 760MW & 578.4MW respectively) of total installed capacity 1338.4MW.
The two hydro plants are cascaded 100km apart with Kainji dam being on the upstream of Jebba. MESL generates an average of 20 percent of Nigeria’s power energy.
The management of MESL believes and is committed to an effective QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) management system that will promote and ensure customer satisfaction, safe and healthy work conditions, provide safe equipment and ensure safe system of work as applicable to everyone directly and/or indirectly involved in our operations.
MESL is committed to protecting the environment and reducing the environmental impacts of its activities as we continually improve environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.
The management of Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited shall identify and implement strategies to achieve continual improvement of the Integrated QHSE management system in order to maximize output and sustain our goal of zero LTI and zero environmental impact.
