Touching lives through CSR initiatives

Mainstream Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility outfit of Mainstream Energy Solutions limited, the concessionaires of Kainji and Jebba Hydro Power Plants. The foundation is the expression of the company's desire in reaching out to host communities and ensuring they benefit directly from a well articulated iterative community development intervention. As one of the biggest and most efficient hydro power plants in Nigeria, Mainstream is the only one today with a duly registered foundation among the successor PHCN companies that seeks to engage directly with communities in ensuring that they are touched by various initiatives.

Mainstream Foundation was registered on the 28 of December 2016 with a seven (7) member Board of Trustees of persons with proven integrity and commitment to community service from across Nigeria. The Foundation has four (4) key intervention areas · Education · Health · Environment · Community Empowerment

This year the foundation organized a medical outreach in 3 communities where over 1000 villages were screened and medical assistance provided to them. Seventy-four (74) surgery cases were organized in identified cases at the New Bussa General Hospital, Katemiya First Call hospital and Bida General Hospital. The foundation saw the need for a river blindness eradication campaign in some communities around the lake where the disease is prevalent. The foundation will work with a team of doctors and other interested donors to tackle the disease. Mainstream Foundation will continue to support our immediate communities in the key intervention areas of education, health environment and community empowerment.

With these vital intervention areas, the company has targeted the core issues that affect developing societies while focusing on its core business which is the generation and delivery of electricity in a safe, reliable, efficient and most environmentally friendly manner.
